The 2015 Leadership Summit is being held at The Wesley Center (2350 Methodist Parkway, Woodworth, LA) on August 21-22.
This event is designed for leaders of local homeschool support groups, whether serving on the board or not. Those being considered for leadership roles are welcome. So bring your whole team and be encouraged! Click here to register.
This year, our guest speakers are Tim & Lyndsay Lambert, head of the Texas Home School Coalition (THSC), the largest homeschool organization in the state of Texas. They have many leadership lessons to share from their work with and on behalf of homeschooling families. The Lamberts live in Lubbock, Texas, where they have been involved in homeschool leadership since 1984. Under their leadership, THSC has grown to serve tens of thousands of families in Texas, delivering two conventions annually and a variety of other services and events.
At this year's Leadership Summit, the Lamberts will share how they made their organization much more effective by instituting a teamwork concept and structure. Their practical approach to leadership will be energizing and refreshing. Their presentations will allow time for interaction and questions.
Breakout sessions will focus on specific roles on your board, and allow discussion between support group leaders to share best practices and ideas for improving your local group. Our goal is for you to leave with new information and encouragement for the job that lies before you this year as a leader.
Once again, we are excited to have David & Karen Tero and their family running our children's program at Summit. Each year, this program is a blessing to the leaders' families. They have a whole crew of experienced children and youth workers. They use lots of games, songs, and activities to make your child's time at Summit a memorable one.
Looking back, here are the local group leaders who attended the Leadership Summit in 2013.
